Valve announced the Steam Controller, Steam Machine console, and Steam Frame VR headset together in November last year. Today, we have a lot more concrete information on one of those products, but not the other two.

The memory crisis has forced Valve to delay the Steam Machine from an early 2026 launch, but rumors suggest a price and release date announcement is near.

There’s still no release date, though. And with Valve still working on getting the Steam Controller out the door next week and shipping the Steam Frame and Steam Machine sometime this year, we could be waiting a while for a Steam Deck 2.

The new Steam Machine has my attention because Valve is building it around an operating system that treats gaming as the main event.
